It is designed to help students prepare for the future through educational resources, experiential activities, and reflection. The seven dimensions of employability are Academic Learning, Experiential Learning, Career Maturity, Professional Skills, Career Management, Meaningful Connections, and Global Perspective.
Request to start CAP by completing this brief interest form. After your form is submitted, you will be added to the CAP Blackboard space and will receive an email to help you get started! Email email@example.com if you have any questions.
Why you should complete CAP
CAP will help you breakdown the components of your career in an interactive, reflective and progressive way through its easy to follow learning modules and dynamic career courses. Additionally, the program will help you develop the characteristics of a successful professional:
- Think T-shaped when connecting academics to career plans
- Get experience outside the classroom
- Be focused and flexible with your career plans
- Develop skills employers want
- Do the research and target your materials
- Build a professional support network
- Foster cultural awareness
As you work your way through CAP, you will have the opportunity to earn KU swag! After you complete your first three dimensions, you will get a fun Jayhawk baseball tee! Finish CAP and earn a KU branded portfolio to use during interviews, professional jobs, or graduate school!
