Internship: Miguel Chavez

Year in School & Major:
Senior in Journalism - Strategic Communication
Internship/Job Organization:
TITLE Boxing Club, Overland Park, KS

How did you land your internship?

I scheduled appointments with the J-school career center to polish my resume and applied via the posting on LinkedIn.

What advice would you give to other students considering an internship?

Make sure to start applying early, especially if you want to intern at a big company since they usually hire summer interns early on. Don't submit the same application for every internship that you apply for; customize it to meet the requirements they are looking for.

What are your future plans?
I currently work for New Belgium Brewing, and I am trying my hardest to earn a full-time offer from them. If that doesn't work out, then I will be applying for digital marketing positions in the KC area, Denver and maybe Minneapolis.
