How to and why you should attend a career fair

Preparing for a career fair video playlist: three short videosThe spring career fair is the best way to have face-to-face contact with a variety of employers who have jobs and internships and want to speak with KU students. When you submit your resume to a company’s website, you are merely one of many. At a career fair, you become more than just another application in the system. You are a real person with great skills to offer the employer.

They will remember you because you have engaged in a conversation with them. When you make a positive impression in person, it greatly increases the likelihood that an employer will do something with your online application. The career fair only happens once in the spring – take advantage of it! You won’t regret it, and it may be the gateway to a wonderful opportunity you didn’t even know existed.
