Internship: Mara

Year in School & Major:
Freshman, Behavioral Neuroscience
Internship/Job Organization:
MCORRP, Ann Arbor, MI
Family Member
Cardiology, Medical
I extract data from patient charts (eg. patient demographics and labs) that take an anticoagulant and put it into a database that keeps track of the appointment follow-ups.
I learned more about the field of cardiology, how important communication is between patient and doctor, and how important it is to get a full night of rest to work a 9-5 job.
My future career goals will be impacted by this internship because of the knowledge that I have gained during it. The little pieces I now know about the field of cardiology will give me something to talk about, the importance of efficient work will be able to be applied everywhere, and the connections that I have made with the people I worked alongside will be life long.
